Global tax reform is difficult at the best of times.
The US has suggested a pause on OECD talks regarding international taxation while governments around the world focus on responding to the Covid-19 pandemic and safely reopening their economies.
This recent breakdown in negotiations could prompt the current Administration to retaliate against countries that impose unilateral taxes on American tech firms which clearly dominate the industry.
